Four electric Sany telehandlers join UK fleet: check the capacity at actual reach

B&T Plant Hire has taken delivery of four Sany STH625E electric telehandlers, underlining the difference between a headline 2.5-tonne rating and the capacity available at the actual reach and height.

Electric telehandlers entering the fleet

Vertikal reported on 14 October 2026 that UK rental company B&T Plant Hire took delivery of four Sany STH625E all-electric telehandlers. The model is rated at a maximum 2.5 tonnes with a 6m lifting height.

These headline ratings do not mean the machine can handle 2.5 tonnes at every height and reach.

What APs and site teams must verify

The actual machine variant, attachments, fork or suspended-load mode, load centre, working height, forward reach and manufacturer capacity chart govern what can safely be lifted.

  • Select the exact machine and attachment.
  • Check the OEM load chart for the intended operating mode.
  • Use actual reach and lift height for capacity assessment.
  • Do not treat forks and suspended loads as equivalent configurations.
  • Record travel, segregation and site-specific operating restrictions.
