Safety & Use Disclaimer

Effective 18 August 2026
Safety-critical service

The Service is for planning support and information only. It does not replace competent lift planning, competent plan checking, AP approval, supervision or site verification.

1. Planning aid only

LiftPlanProUK helps Users collect, organise and present lifting information. It does not itself plan, check, approve, supervise or authorise a lifting operation and must not be treated as engineering, safety or legal advice for a particular lift.

The Service does not replace competent planning or competent plan checking. Every plan and output must be reviewed, checked and approved for the actual operation by a suitably competent person before it is issued, briefed or used.

2. Competent person and dutyholder control

The employer, Customer and relevant dutyholders remain responsible for ensuring the operation is properly planned by a competent person, appropriately supervised and carried out safely. They must determine the competence required in light of the lift’s complexity, equipment and risks.

A User-entered name, card number, credential, check box, signature, approval status or independent verification record is evidence entered into the system; it is not a guarantee of identity, competence, authority or compliance.

3. Generated status is not permission to lift

“Complete”, “green”, “within capacity”, “ready for review”, “approved” and similar system labels describe recorded inputs and workflow state only. They do not mean that the physical lift is safe or that all hazards and legal duties have been addressed.

Draft, trial, watermarked, incomplete, TBC, superseded or rejected outputs must never be used to authorise a lift. Approval of a plan does not remove the need for pre-lift checks, briefing, supervision, permits, stop-work authority and dynamic reassessment.

4. Inputs, charts and calculations

Outputs are only as reliable as the inputs and source data. Users must verify the actual load and centre of gravity, lifting points, gross lifted weight, accessories, configuration, duty, radius, height, ground conditions, wind and environmental limits, obstructions, proximity hazards, travel route and set-down area.

Machine data, preset weights, load charts and calculations may be transcribed, estimated or incomplete. They must be checked against current manufacturer documentation for the exact machine, serial number, boom, jib, counterweight, tracks, outriggers, attachment and operating mode. Do not interpolate or assume a capacity unless the competent person and applicable manufacturer information permit it.

5. Site-specific verification

Before use, the competent person must confirm that the plan matches the actual site and current conditions, including access, bearing capacity and working platform, underground and overhead services, structures, edges, excavations, public interface, exclusion zones, weather, communications, lifting accessories, inspection status and emergency arrangements.

If anything differs, is unavailable, cannot be verified or changes after approval, stop and reassess. A material change requires the plan to be revised, rechecked, reapproved and rebriefed as appropriate.

6. Controlling information

Current law, approved codes and guidance, manufacturer instructions and load charts, engineered designs, the Principal Contractor’s rules, the approved lift plan, RAMS, permits and the competent person’s site-specific instructions take precedence over generic app content. Use the most restrictive applicable limit.

LiftPlanProUK is an independent software service and is not an HSE, CITB, CPCS, CPA, BSI, equipment-manufacturer, crane-supplier, employer or Principal Contractor publication, and is not endorsed by those bodies unless expressly stated.

7. Independent verification

Where purchased, independent verification is limited to the submitted revision, information provided and agreed scope. It does not transfer statutory or operational duties and is not continuing supervision of the lift. Any material change invalidates reliance on the previous review until reassessed.

8. Use at your organisation’s risk

The Customer decides whether the Service is suitable for its systems and project requirements. The Service cannot identify every error, hazard, combination of conditions or local rule. Users must apply competent professional judgement and must never allow speed, cost, an automated result or a generated document to override safety.

Nothing in this Disclaimer excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. The liability provisions in the Terms & Conditions apply to use of the Service.
